Róisín Dubh Fear-Less Gig and Poetry Live Mic, Galway – July 2022

What a great night we had! It was indeed a feast of music and poetry at the Róisín Dubh on 7 July. We gathered to promote music and poetry as a way to good mental health, while also raising funds for the local mental health charity, Jigsaw.

In music, we had Our Butterfly Effect, Gerry Hanberry and Justin McCarthy, Eanna Fitzgerald, Danny Keane, Gerard Mooney, David James, John and Gerald Cosgrove. And for poetry, we were delighted by the words of Steve Denehan, Luke Morgan, Cormac Culkeen, Leah Keane, David James, Fiona Hanley, Sean O’Donnell, Kevin Higgins, Gerry Hanberry, and James O’Toole who also did a fantastic job as our MC for the evening.

A big thank you to you all, it was brilliant!

Mary spoke about the wonderful work Jigsaw does in supporting young people through mental health issues. Thank you, Mary, and thank you Jigsaw, especially Steven, who was always at hand ready to help in the run-up to the event.

To give you an idea of just how lovely an evening it was, here’s a video put together so wonderfully by Kevin O’Brien. Thank you, Kevin!

The planning for our next Fear-Less live event is already in the works. We are heading to the Imperial Hotel in Dundalk on 29 September 2022.
